Toronto FC Signs 'Demonstrated Striker' Adama Diomande

Toronto FC has gone out and marked one more player who once played for mentor Weave Bradley elsewhere.

TFC declared on Thursday that the club has obtained Norwegian forward Adama Diomande off waivers and he will be under agreement through 2024 with a possibility for 2025.

"I had the potential chance to work with Dio at Stabæk and at LAFC, and I'm eager to invite him to Toronto FC," said Bradley. "He is a demonstrated striker with huge experience playing in MLS and Europe. His brilliant runs, athletic presence, and ability to complete in the crate will quickly affect our assault."

Bradley trained Diomande, 32, at Stabæk in Norway (2015) and Los Angeles FC (2018).

Since showing up in Toronto in front of the 2022 MLS season, the Reds have gotten various players who once played for Bradley, including midfielder Imprint Anthony Kaye and goalkeeper Tomás Romero. The expansion of Diomande leaves TFC with three veteran advances, as Diomande joins Jesus Jimenez and Ayo Akinola, who both battled to score on occasion the year before. It's reasonable the club will attempt to move Jimenez or potentially Akinola.
