ENZO MARESCA’S PRIDE: THE MAIN REASON CHELSEA IS STRUGGLING

Why is this coach tolerated by the Chelsea board as a whole? From what I see in almost every game, he makes the Chelsea team look vulnerable and unprepared.  You are playing against a Champions League-level team with the same number of points, and on top of that you are playing away from home — yet you still set up the team like you don’t understand the importance of the match.  You have only been here for one year, but your pride is already too much despite the fact that their coach has been developing his system for 17 years. Because the board is not putting any pressure on you, you act as though no one can question you. You are doing whatever you want at Chelsea without any accountability.

You would have been questioned a long time ago under Abramovich, so it is fortunate that this is not the case. The board ought to have rethought their decision based solely on that match, which resulted in an unacceptable draw with Qarabag. Your pride and stubborn decisions are holding the team back instead of helping you build a strong squad.

You bench good players for easy games, despite having a strong team with talent that many coaches aspire to. You make the team work hard without needing to. You only bring them in when things get worse, when your tactical mistakes have already put the team behind.

There is no excuse for a coach who cannot capitalize on his team's strength. The board needs to sit down, review their investment, and carefully assess what is happening.  They must question the small, frequent errors you continue to make, which are gradually eroding the players' and fans' faith and confidence. Chelsea is a large club that does not encourage experiments or excessive pride. Better is in order for the team, the players, and the fans, as well as for the club. If you cannot change your approach, then maybe Chelsea needs someone who can help the team and improve the team more.
